Miracle Babies Partnership

Date: 13 June 2024

Miracle Babies Foundation:

“Chiesi Australia are delighted to partner with Miracle Babies. We are proud to support education for families requiring neonatal care and hope to empower them with the knowledge and resources to navigate this challenging journey.” - Dr James Micevski, Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs, Chiesi Australia

Australia’s leading not for profit organisation supporting premature and sick newborns and their families, Miracle Babies provides vital peer support, education and resources to support, enhance and improve the lives of all impacted by prematurity or sickness at birth.

As part of the corporate partnership, Chiesi Australia have helped Miracle Babies expand their education via its online Nurture E Information Hub. Growing support for parents and children throughout their life following prematurity or sickness at birth.

The addition of the Early Years and Preschool Years sections of the hub, supported by Chiesi, will help more families feel confident and empowered to support and advocate for their child (or for themselves) through these important development years. Developed by Miracle Babies, together with health professionals, this one-stop hub provides evidence-based information for a premature or sick child’s progression through each stage of life.

Babies born premature, small for their gestational age, or babies that have had complications that lead to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN) stay, run a higher risk of challenges.

The ‘Early Years’ and 'Preschool Years’ expansion covers information including Going home, Safe Sleeping, Diet and Nutrition, Processing Disorders, Respiratory Conditions, Long-Term Conditions, Parental Mental Health, Genetic Conditions, Rare Conditions, and Infant Mental Health.

The partnership is also supporting the development of the 2024 edition of the NurtureGuide book, with more than 100 pages of parent-friendly information to guide and support through the often-daunting environment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the journey that comes with having a baby requiring specialised care.

Caring for people throughout their journey, from childhood to adulthood, has always been at the core of our mission and is one of the many reasons why we are so proud to partner with Miracle Babies Foundation. We are excited for our partnership's future as we continue to collaborate on finding valuable ways to enhance the lives of miracle babies and their families.
